Pat is a senior private credit executive with decades of sponsor finance experience. He has been a key participant in the private debt market since its inception contributing to the development of NewStar Financial, one of the early pioneers of the asset class. Pat led the sponsor coverage efforts at NewStar, and served as a member of the management committee and investment committee.
Throughout his career, Pat has led origination teams that have sourced, structured, and closed financings for private equity-backed middle market transactions involving over 100 different sponsors. Prior to joining NewStar Financial in 2005, Pat served as Market Executive for Bank of America (acquired FleetBoston Financial), where he managed a team responsible for 1,600 client relationships with revenues ranging from $50 million to $2 billion. He also served as a Group Executive, providing credit, capital markets, and non-credit services to various industry verticals, including industrial, transportation, environmental, energy, automotive, and professional sports finance.
